About FGEC
FGEC is aiming to make a significant contribution to the maintenance of a sustainable environment within a technologically-advanced, growing UK economy. We are achieving this objective by focusing on the development, operation and ownership of solar PV electricity generation systems for commercial property (buildings, car parks and land) owners in the UK, and on delivering sustainable financial returns for our investors.
FGEC’s management capability and experience enables it to help commercial businesses and organisations to reduce their carbon footprints and to achieve significant savings on their electricity bills. These benefits are realised by making use of unproductive roof space, surplus land and air space above car parks to generate solar PV electricity.
FGEC’s management team has successfully financed and developed 2 of the 3 largest roof-mounted solar PV systems in the UK with contracts to supply the green electricity generated to the building owners at significant discounts to the tariffs offered by commercial Grid electricity suppliers. The Case Studies on this web site show that the management team has worked effectively with private and public sector organisations as well as social enterprises.
During May 2014 Mike and Gordon completed the development of a 3 MWp PV system on the roof of BMW Group's MINI manufacturing plant in Cowley, Oxford. This PV system was installed by EvoEnergy, and it is owned and operated by Free Green Energy Corporation.
In February 2016 Mike and Gordon completed the development of a 3.8 MWp Pv system on the roof of Lyreco’s main UK distribution centre in Telford. This PV system was also installed by EvoEnergy, and it is owned and operated by Addison Energy.
By working with its accredited solar PV installer partners, FGEC is able to provide both private and public sector commercial organisations with competitively-priced, secure supplies of long term renewable energy from high-performing solar PV systems. The PV systems which are developed by FGEC are owned and operated by blue chip-funded companies.
